2015 NESAR Ends with Recommendations


The 11th session of the National Education Sector Annual Review (NESAR) has ended with some recommendations from education stakeholders for the next 15 years on how to sustain achievements chalked in the Education For All (EFA) Goals.

This year’s forum evaluated the EFA Goals as captured by the Global Monitoring Report (GMR) and the Post 2015 Agenda.

In a welcome address, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Deputy Minister in charge of Tertiary, assured participants of the Ministry’s preparedness to implement recommendations arrived at.

The Hon. Minister, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, said even though the world was focusing on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and how to sustain them, the Ministry of Education still have its focus on the 2020 Strategic Plan which was still in action.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, was optimistic that next year’s NESAR would be an opportunity for every stakeholder to account for all recommendations arrived at in 2015.

There were discussions and presentations on Access, Equity and Inclusive teaching and learning, Quality of Education, Education Management, Life-Long Learning and Emergency in Education.
