Two envoys have paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Education, Hon. Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at her office in Accra.

The envoys were the Republic of South Sudan Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mr. Michael Mayil Chol and H.E. Madam Nesrin Bayazit, the Republic of Turkey Ambassador to Ghana.

H.E. Chol recalled the bilateral support South Sudan had received from Ghana at difficult moments and referred to the country as a “brother”. He called for more concerted collaboration for that relationship to be strengthened.

He was optimistic that Ghana would make herself available for South Sudan to tap from it rich education system and learn the good practices to build up the critical human resource base of South Sudan.

In her response, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang pledged the Ministry’s readiness to lend its support in any way it could in order to impact the education system in South Sudan.

H.E. Madam Nesrin Bayazit who was the second to call on the Minister came with a mission to strengthen the already existing relationship between the two countries and to further explore new areas in education for cooperation.
