Ghana and India to strengthen relations


Ghana and India have pledged to strengthen their already existing relations and to cooperate in areas of mutual benefit.

This came to light when the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Birender Singh, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Education , Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in his office in Accra.

In his welcome remarks, the Minister commended India for deepening its support to Ghana in many areas including the redevelopment of the Flagstaff House as well as creating a Parliamentary Village.

He also expressed his gratitude to the India Government for agreeing to support Ghana on its agenda for Technical, Vocational and Agriculture Education and Training (TVAET), as well as the teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science.

On his part, the Indian High Commissioner disclosed that his country had supported Ghana in the fields of rural electrification, agro processing, agricultural mechanization and rail transport among others.

According to him the  proposal to support Ghana in TVAET, Science and Mathematics would  deepen the relationship between the two countries.
