Tenth Anniversary of Ghana's Membership of the International Organisation of Francophonie-2006-2016 Competitions in French

The International Organisation of Francophonie was created in 1970 and covers a significant linguistic zone in the world. The 80 member states and governments pledge to promote peace, good governance; sustainable economic growth and cultural and linguistic diversity.

Ghana joined the organisation in 2006 as an associate member and carries out some of the programmes of the organisation. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of this membership and to create awareness of students on the need to study French taking into consideration the fact of geography, the Ministry of Education is organising competitions in French for students in all Basic, Secondary and Tertiary institutions in the country. Interesting prizes will be awarded to winners of the competition in the various categories. The Ministry therefore has the pleasure to invite all students to participate in this challenging and interesting academic exercise.
