Kwaobaah-Nyanoa Gets CDSHS


President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Kwaobaah-Nyanoa Community Day Senior High School in the Upper West Akyem District of the Eastern Region.

The project, which is the fourth edifice to be commissioned out of the on-going construction of 200 CDSHS being constructed across the country is significant because Kwaobaah-Nyanoa was where President Mahama broke grounds to kick start work on the construction of the first fifty CDSHSs.

At a durbar, to mark the commissioning, President Mahama said about twelve CDSHSs are expected to be constructed in the Eastern Region to increase the number of SHSs in the region.

He affirmed his commitment to deliver all the Community Day SHSs towards improving and expanding access to a progressively free education.

According to him, the increased investment in infrastructure was part of efforts at builing a solid foundation for economic development for the benefit of the citizenry.

President Mahama commended the Minister of Education and her two Deputies for their hard work in ensuring the completion of some of the projects and those about to be completed.

More than 700 unemployed Ghanaians were offered jobs opportunities out of the construction of the facility.

Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, the Education Minister, entreated parents to endeavour to enroll their wards in the school and urged advised pupils and students in the district to take advantage of the school to build a foundation for their education and future.

The chief of the Kwaobaah-Nyanoa, Kwaku Baffuor Arkoh II, thanked the Government for the edifice and pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the facility.
